॥ जय जानकी दुर्गेश्वरी ॥
It’s a herculean task to write about Baiji. Not blessed with the art of the written word and having the habit to shorten words to fit in the limited space in today’s whatapp world has made it all the more difficult. However this is my sincere attempt to put down in whichever form I can.
Being introduced to the spiritual world by the par excellence poet-saint Shree Madhukar Sule Kaka of Baroda while accompanying him to meet various saints in Dockyard and other places brought me to the doorsteps of Baiji at whose feet I find extreme satisfaction and peace of mind.
As with every person on this earth I too was searching for the divine power to help me negotiate this treacherous world and used to stand near all temples and seek blessings from all forms of god to reach what we all search forin life some stability and a little sucess. It was during this selfish stage of my life that I challenged Baiji to get me a job overseas when I was even searching for one, being happily settled with the one at hand in Vasai. But the wheels of fortune change and such situations were created that I had not one but 2 options to choose to go overseas.
After we finalized which job to pick and on getting the appointment letter we went to Gandevi to seek her blessings and made it a ritual to visit Gandevi whenever would visit India which I have managed to keep except for certain exceptional reasons where I would compensate with a visit to Vadhavkar Kakaji.
My initial interaction with Baiji was during my early days in the Gulf when Baiji had rescued me from a near fatal accident in the deserts of Dubai during my way back from office. Our car skidded of the road during a sudden sand storm and landed safely on a sand dune, just as I called her to save me. There was sudden storm out of nowhere which took the driver by surprise and made him lose the control over the car which was speeding. But Baiji’s intervention made the car to take a sharp turn and land on a sand dune to save us from a horrible accident.
Her presence around me was slowly getting reinforced as I began to feel that things not going my way would eventually conclude the way I would want it. During the great recession of the 2008-2009 when most of the companies shut down in the Gulf, the company I worked too was going to face the same fate and I had a feeling that I should change my job very soon. Even before I could think about my next option I got an offer from my very own competitor with much better terms I could think off. Usually it is very difficult to change jobs with between competitors in this region with anti-competition laws in place but to my surprise I did not face any such thing and had a smooth transition. It’s all because Baiji knew she had intervene for the sake of her children.
I must not forget Vadhavkar Kakaji who stood by me like a rock during this period and gave me courage to face the situation. He presented to me the 1st print of Baiji’s large photo which finds a place of pride in my daughters study room. This picture of Baiji is an enlarged version of the mini photos that we all had earlier is so full of life and the smile that is on her face gives us the feeling that Baiji is aware of all that we want to ask her and she has already approved of it. She knows what we want and she will give it to us at a time she feels is right.
We would then onwards regularly read the Savali in Marathi though I still find some new meaning in it every time. I read it again and believe that have yet to fully understand what Savali is all about. Later we got the English version which it easy for me and my wife to read. This spiritual feeling lead me to read Shree Durga Saptashati, Visava and Chaitanyagatha and I do read them once a while when I feel down. I feel Visava too should be penned down in English to reach out to more disciples who find difficulty in understanding Marathi of the highest order.
Our faith in Baiji was by now fully dedicated so much that we read Savali on regular basis and would instead talk to Baiji and tell her our problem may be while driving or just like the incidents mentioned in Savali and our troubles were care off.
There was once a tender which would make or break my career in my new company and I had utilized all the tools to gather intelligence about my competitor but would not get order and one day during my visit to the clients office I happened to see the price chart of all my competitor by the client and I stood at 4th position. This chart as per rules should not be available with this particular but due to Baiji’s intervention I managed to be the place at the right time. I immediately video graphed the chart and revised my price and picked up what was later know to be the biggest single product order for my company in more than half a century or more. I then made my 1st of such visit to Gandevi to thank her.
Another incident that we recall was as always wanted to change the school of our daughter but 2 years we doud not get her admission to the school since we could not register her name on time but on the 3rd attempt we could register on time but we did not know when would be her interview and written exam to get the admission. We thought that we lost the opportunity again and did not think much on this. Suddenly we got a call from one of my wife’s friend informing us of the written exam and interview being the very next day. Now there was no time to prepare for the test and so we thought of not attending exam but my wife prayed to Baiji and told my daughter to attend the exam as Baiji will take care of everything. To our surprise out of more than 100 students who attended the exam for only 3 available seats my daughter was one of the 3 who got the admission. This was only due to the belief and complete faith we have in her.
My wife does not belong to our community and comes from Sikh community. She may not pray to her Gurus but she will not let a day go without praying to Baiji. Such is her Baiji that feel blessings of Baiji will remain on our family forever.
We are just simple people and do not understand the way of the lord but our sincere loyalty and acceptance of the fact whatever Baiji plans is for benefit and we should let her guide us is our way of life. She is the guiding light for all of us and should let her take control of it. Her care for her followers is such intense that even though we have not seen her but just chanting her name of even thinking about her once a day is enough for us to feel secured. This phenomenon in our life has been brought about by Sule Kaka who introduced us to the mother of all humanity our Baiji. I am using this occasion in my own small way to instill in the younger generation the faith in our saints and to spend few quality moments reading about them once a while. It be an enriching experience for a lifetime.
Maybe sometime in the future I can enough courage to write down in more detail how Baiji has influenced our lives.
I Shall forever be in debt to my uncle Shree Sule Kaka for having got Baiji into our lives and I am really blessed to be related to him.
